I’m a bit biased towards Japanese actress Nakama Yukie. She’s obviously one of my favorite Japanese actresses and judging by her prime time popularity and her slew of product endorsements, I guess its not only me whose rooting for this baby-faced model/actress.
Here’s one Nakama Yukie Ad for Aquair. I don’t find the ad particularly outstanding but its noticeable for the simple reason that Nakama Yukie is there.
I blame it on Hana Yori Dango. I had this fixated idea that Japanese hottie Oguri Shun is always that quiet, aloof, mysterious guy. This video definitely gives me a refreshing look at the talented actor.
He sure can do funny and can be downright adorable. Watch it!
Matsujun’s fan’s out there, this is a must watch. Pepsi is really making the right choice in having Jun Matsumoto as endorser. The “JUN-bait” is really taking effect. This ad will make you want to grab and drink a Pepsi!
Japanese pop icon Utada Hikaru for Sony Stamina. I just love the song here and I have no idea what its title is.. Anyone who knows kindly leave me a comment or a link where I could have the song downloaded… Please.. I’d really appreciate it. Enjoy!
Japanese model/actress Nakama Yukie for Shisheido’s Beauty Voltage. This CM is just Wow! She just looks so natural and of course beautiful. This ad is a bit different from other Japanese commercials that tend to be futuristic, other times too anime-ish, this one’s just simple yet comes across as convincing. I just wish the video had subs so I’d know what she is saying..
This is the 15 sec. version. I love this. The commercial is short, visuals are simple and the contrasting colors are great. Utada Hikaru looks like she’s having a lot of fun here.. Makes you wanna grab the latest Nintendo and see for yourself why she’s so happy with it.

Japanese songstress Utada Hikaru is really a multitude of talents. I love her laid-back, simple style. But don’t let her pretty appearance deceive, I think she’s one of Japan’s best singers, not just in popularity but she simply is a fab singer. Obviously, I am a Utada Hikaru fan. !

Utada Hikaru was born in a family with both Japanese parents involved in music industry; Utada’s music talent was nurtured in an early age and she showed her potential by recording her first English album “Precious” at the age of 12.
Precious was not actually released in US, but later discovered by a Japanese producer and released it in Japan in 1998. The album received some good reviews and Utada Hikaru, at age of 15 back then, was gradually gaining fame.
Seeing Utada’s potential, the Japan recording company (Toshiba-EMI) convinced her to release her Japanese album instead.
Utada Hikaru released her first Japanese single “Automatic” in 1999 and was an instant hit. Shortly after that Utada released her first Japanese album, “First Love” that sold over 10 million copies across Asia. “First Love” is still until today the best selling music album in Japan.
In 2000 Utada went back to US for further study in Columbia University; her university life was interrupted when she released her 2nd and 3rd Japanese album “Distance” (2001) and “Deep River” (2002) which both sold for multi million copies.
Utada Hikaru didn’t finish her university studies due to health issues and a busy successful singing career.
Utada Hikaru then surprised many when she married Kazuaki Kiriya, a photographer she worked with numerous times, shortly after the released of Deep River in 2002.
In 2004 Utada Hikaru released her ambitious English album “Exodus” that was not very successful in US market. Her single “Devil Inside” however managed to become a disco club hit and claimed #1 spot at Billboard Hot Dance/Club Airplay charts.
Utada Hikaru has just released her 4th Japanese album, “Ultra Blue” in June 2006.
Utada’s musical success is often compared to another Japanese pop diva Ayumi Hamasaki, especially in the early 2000s. Their rivalry is not as fierce now with the rising of other Japanese pop stars.
Japanese commercial featuring Matsu Jun. I prefer Jun Matsumoto with longish hair ( like his hair in Gokusen1) and I don’t really dig his hairstyle here in this McDonald’s commercial with Ohno. Watch it!

For Japanese commercial and Nakama Yukie fanatics. Want to see a different Yukie ad? I’ve noticed a lot of her ads make her out to be glamorous and she is! Here’s one where you can see Nakama Yukie not exactly like she was in Gokusen but simpler, less glamorous but nonetheless beautiful! This ad makes me want to eat ice cream too..

I love this girl. She has fabulous features and you can just stare at her for hours and never get tired of her face. She has a lot of product endorsements and I dug up a lot of her commercials, so expect more Nakama Yukie featured Japanese commercials soon.
This one uses a lot of shots of her face, and it was a right choice. She’s lovely.. Enjoy!

Japanese commercials sure make good combinations of humor, weirdness and their technology. Here’s one of my fave Mao Inoue ads.. She is just so “kawaii”! The monkey scares me though, lol!

Popular Japanese actress Mao Inoue for a chocolate brand in the 30′s and 60′s versions. This reminds me of Hana Yori Dango TV series especially the part she said “Yo!”..Instead of cookies she has chocolates..This is lovely. Do watch the 60s version, it’s worth it! (more…)
